The steady stream of details about the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro is starting to turn into a deluge as the online configurator has just gone online, revealing the color palette and trim options. This follows last week’s release of the 2016 Camaro’s performance specifications, with the SS model blasting off from 0 to 60 MPH in 4 seconds flat and a starting MSRP of $37,245.

But even though the first sixth-generation Camaros go on sale soon, the online configurator is still missing a few key pieces of information That doesn’t make it any less fun, just less useful, at least for now.

If you’re looking for an entertaining way to put off work on any old morning, however, the 2016 Camaro configurator is a great distraction. There are no surprise color offerings, which is perhaps a surprise unto itself; no orange or greens here, and with the exception of Bright Yellow, no real attention-grabbing hues. It’s all rather subtle for the 2016 Camaro, and it’s going to come down to personal preference.

GM is also offering a wide variety of 20-inch wheels for those wanting an upgrade over stock, though you can’t pick your way through the inevitable plethora of performance and interior upgrades just yet. The configurator is currently limited to aesthetic changes at the moment, though the ability to customize the interior with different color seats and knee pads is a nice touch. That may only be an option for the upper-trim models though.

GM is making a point to draw out the launch of the 2016 Camaro, no doubt in a bid to reclaim the muscle car sales crown from the all-new Mustang. On paper at least, the Camaro has some pretty big advantages over its crosstown rival, and the Camaro had handily outsold the Mustang on a month-to-month basis for most of the past six years.
