2014 Camaro Concept Is ALSO Bumblebee In Transformers 4

2014-Bumblebee-Camaro-Concept-2 [1]Back in March, GM rolled out the refreshed 2014 Camaro, which gave us a mild remix of the Chevy muscle car we all know and love. Then to build up buzz for the next installment of the Transformers franchise, an image of a restomod-like Camaro was released into the Internet, causing a lot of pondering as to just what happens to undergo such a dramatic change.

Well it has been revealed that the restomod Bumblebee [2] is just one of a multitude of looks for the Autobot in Transformers 4. Revealed on director Michael Bay’s homepage [3] is this latest look for Bumblee, which is supposedly based on a discarded concept for the 2014 Camaro refresh. Too bad GM didn’t go with this look, eh?

This raises the question of why Bumblebee undergoes at least two big changes in the next installment of the Transformers franchise. Is he destroyed? Does he go back in time? Why does he get a futuristic makeover? More to the point, why didn’t GM give the 2014 Camaro those edgier headlights and more-fastback roofline?

It could be because the Dodge Dart debuted with the same style of headlights, and the 2015 Mustang seems to be headed in that direction too. Perhaps GM designers decided that sticking with the rounder-style headlights would keep the Camaro distinct going forward. That said, we’re big fans of the look, and this could be a hint of what to expect in the next-gen Camaro.

Who knows? Maybe if it is popular enough, GM will even offer it as a bodykit. What do you think?
