Texas Mile Raced C6 Convertible Corvette Gets A Procharged 427

While the Corvette has undergone many restyling changes and built up quite the following, the 2005 C6 restyle has been the latest craze. The first 6.0L base models released in 2005 were no slouches in performance, but when compared to the LS7 Z06 they left much to be desired for those looking for the ultimate high power Corvette. Well luckily the LSX series of motors are fairly interchangeable, and when this 2006 C6 Corvette owner set his sights on building his car for the Texas mile he decided it was time to step up to a 427 LS7 motor built by HKE Racing Engines.

Pics and details on this clean arctic white car were released on the Yellowbullet Forums by the owner (username aTX427).

While the 427 even naturally aspirated is a stout motor, the decision was made to add on a F1R Procharger in hopes of cresting the big 1000hp mark and the results were promising – the car made 1002 horsepower to the wheels and 928 ft lbs of torque on 93 octane spraying methanol. The dyno test was done at 19 pounds of boost and the owner plans to put a few more pounds of boost in it come race day. What’s more impressive is the low end grunt that this car has and its ability to produce all this power below 6500 rpm makes it a very streetable setup.

The owner would have liked to upgrade to a larger F2 Procharger but space constraints became an issue when trying to fit it, so the F1R will stay for now. All the custom tuning on the car was completed by Dallas Performance. The attractive wheel combination on this car is a set of HRE 891R wheels wrapped with a set of Hoosier tires. With the kind of power this car is packing it is almost guaranteed that this car should be able to eclipse the 200mph mark in the standing mile and join the elite 200mph club.
