| Test and Tune Day Today in the shop, Tom and I spent most of the morning prepping the project cars for the track. A test and tune session if you are to believe the track organizers. Listening to the 'drivers' of the project cars, this was going to be a full on world championship night of grudge runs.
I had to sit back and smile at the thought of one station wagon, one soccer mom SUV, one overly pampered sportscar and a newly acquired project car that hasn't even made it to the garage yet, all competing for the first annual PowerTV World Nationals Championship.
If it wasn't for the traffic plagued, long and boring drive to Irwindale, I would be tempted to go and watch these "would be Drag superstars" back up all the hot air that was flowing around the office.
Alas, someone needed to stay home and guard the fort. I will have to settle for the tremendously exaggerated tales of greatness tomorrow morning as the drag strip warriors settle in for another exciting day of work. I can hardly wait to hear how close someone came to breaking the existing land speed record, or at least how close they came to the track record.
It should prove to be amusing. When it's all said and done, I'll go to the parking lot, and see how many of these drag strip chariots have kids car seats buckled into them, shake my head and laugh.
Ahhh, tomorrow is another day. |
