Yes thats right! Today is my 20th birthday and we had some hot stripping action in our shop today. Thankfully it wasn't Bj. But things got real hot as we starting stripping paint. So if you came here looking for something else may I direct you to our
Babes of the Month Thread.
So back to the shop, anytime you build a car for some kind of racing application, chances are you will end up repainting the car at some point. This can be an expensive task. But, if you're willing to put in the time, you can get the job done yourself for a fraction of the price.
This is a two step job:
Step one:
Using a heat gun, heat the paint.
I mean really heat it, the more bubbles the better.
Step two:
Take a razor blade or paint scraper and remove the paint.
That's it! Be prepared to spend a few weekends doing this job, but in the end you could save thousands.
Project Swinger Update:
Project Swinger is our Pro Touring Nova with a GM LS3 powerplant. Today we spent our time replacing the rusted out dash in the old gal.
Soon we should have the car off to the body shop to work out a few blemishes, more on that next week.
Well thats all for today, I'm off to enjoy not being a teenager. We'll be back on Monday with more tips, tricks, and a few surprises....
