Newby says Hey!
I'm new to this Site & Forum, it looks like a fun & interesting information resource.

I'm an older Motor-head, I've built and Raced cars my whole life, including professionally for many years. I've got some pretty significant experiences with GM, LSX Gen III & IV engines and I love 'em.

My car was recently featured on the Speed Channel TV show; GEARz, you can find out quite a bit about my current project by looking up the U-tube Video;

listed as LS2 V8 Miata, sorry No Link, but Forum rules here prohibit me from posting one.

Thanks again for the warm Welcome,
- Lee

Lee welcome to the site, this is mainly an online magazine and video site, but we're starting to get some traffic to the forum. That's awesome that you were recently on Gearz. If you get a chance, upload it to LSX TV at http://video.lsxtv.com/upload

You will need to register with a new account on the video portion. You have any pics of your car, you can post them with IMG tags!

Whats up Lee? I know that a lot of people have put the Ford 5.0 motors in Miatas, I just haven't talked to anyone that has put an LS motor in one. I knew that they were doing it, just haven't talked to anyone that has done that.
I gotta know; how difficult was shoe-horning that big ass motor in that tiny engine bay, and how hard is it to get motor mounts and a driveshaft in that?

I loved that project! That is the car that inspired me to want to do the same thing with a RX7. Is it your daily driver?

Hey Bobby!

There is a conversion kits from Martin Wilson in California to do the Ford 5.0 and there's around 200+ Ford V8 Miatas around the nation.

My son-in-law is a custom LSX engine builder, and him knowing the kind of serious GM guy I am, talked me into it. We used essentially just the Miata uni-body and glass and have been one-off designing and fabbing for close to two years.

We designed and installed a tubular k-member (ideas from f-body guys) did frame construction, using ideas from Cadillac CTS V racing guys. used a lot of good sub components from f-body and engine / drive-train from LS2 GTO.

I'm going to use one of our sponsers here Current Performance, and have Jared do my computer tune and harness mods soon.

Thanks again for your interest!

Lee I saw your car on Gearz and it is a doozy. It just blows my mind that you were able to fit, fab and run the LS in the Miata. When the engine runs I bet you can hear that Tommy Boy song "Fat Man in a Little Coat".
Sweeet!

LS powered imports have become increasingly popular over the last couple years. I have a few friends with LS1s in their 240s, FCs etc. Figured that since monster miatas can fit a 302 in there, LS1 should go in as well.

welcome!

Yeah, I'm familiar with the Monster Miatas in San Marcos. Pretty complete conversion kit and support group. My son has a Miata and has been wanting to do that conversion. He's more of a road racer type, so that will suit his needs. I am a circle track guy so I can't figure where I went wrong with him.
