New guy with the Cobra...wanna get Smoked!!
I know I know what the hell is a Ford nut doing on the GM site?
Well I do have a little respect for the OK built Gm product of these days but can't wait to see the Camero SS!
Well one of buddies that runs this site and has twisted my arm till I had no more left and said I uncle, so Here I am introducing myself.
My name is Danny and I Proudly own a 2003 Cobra Mustang that has enough nuts so help you replace some of yours when your wife has them in her purse.
But I do respect the 62 split window corvette I think I got the year right and I also LOVE the 69 Camero and will own one one day so my blood can sizzle. But what I'm really waiting for is the new Camero SS! If it has enough nutz and looks and drives good I might see myself in one.
So with that being said of course being the Italian that I am with Respect to everybody that owns a non Ford Auto with apologies all the way around with a Bada boop Badda Bing its good to be here.

Vader Out!!

Hey Vader. Welcome aboard.
You do know that a Camaro was named after a small creature that consumes mustangs.
Glad you're here.

Welcome fellow New Guy!

Did you know my Mazda Miata was built under Ford ownership?

There is where any parody ends, as it's LSX heart absolutely insures I'll never be spanked by any Ford.

Buy that Camaro SS, it'll make a new man outta ya!

How difficult is the swap? One of our guys is putting a Small-block Chevy into a 240sx and I know it's a tight fit? Are there swap kits?

Mess with the Vader...You get the saber in the you know where!!
Hey LS2,
I hope the new Camero SS makes some impression on me because the past models have been a joke so far. I have never had an SS ever get in front of me in my old Fox Body 5.0 and I was not making any real horse power like 400 RWHP. Now that I got the Cobra breathing fire I think I have gone to far with it and made it maybe a bit UN Road worthy so I'm looking for a new car in the near future. Trying to drive 750 RWHP with allot more torque than that will make me beat a different drum when it come to the street.

Now with the 240SX with a LS whatever your going to put it it ...why bother!!
I would put and 2003 cobra motor and strap a Whipple to it and really go have some fun. My old combo with the Whipple made 682 RWHP @ 687 RWTQ and burned 10.60 quarter mile time slips but with to much power comes melting pistons where the motor is rated only at 650 HP and they mean that.
I'm not a real fan of Chevy motor's I always thought they made to few Horsepower but the new Z06 is a different story all together. Ohh and lets not leave out the almighty new ZR1 which I would sell ever thing I have for that car!!!

My buddy had an old ZR1 like a 94 I think and his dad sold it for what ever reason for under $30K with about 20K in miles on it and it was white in mint condition. If I knew then he was selling it I would of scored that car and had all sorts of fun in it.

Now my Friend James has an 08 corvette and I must admit its really nice. I like the bolt ons that he put on it and really made a man out of that car.
We all know that in the near future James like all his cars it will come up for sale like my Cobra did with less than 2000 miles on it and who knows I might want to take a stab at it. But Bj at Power TV would have to get me drunk, turn me into a Redneck like him by choice of course and and brain wash me for many hours to force my hand into buying a Chevy. But It can be done....rememeber lots of alcohol and why not....throw some nude girls in to!!

But at least I would look and maybe one day drive a Chevy where most Ford guys would have me hung for ever thinking the thought.

SO thats it the baby is crying and The big Bad ass Vader must go change a diaper.

The Vader is out!!

Considering the SS is going to come with the same LS3 as the Vette just in a de-tuned state, I'd say it's going to be a stout performer.

All I'm saying is you don't need a Sledge-hammer to crack a Walnut.

Hot Rod Drag Week 2006, Mazda RX7 Generation III "Street Driven" car with a 2002 LS1 wins "Quickest E.T." with a 8.22 @ 164 MPH!! (see attached picture) tows his support trailer to the track behind him.

Normally aspirated, No Blower, No Turbo, No Nitrous.

Watch the U-tube video of this LS1 V8 Miata at "Pinks" in Florida, running a "Stock" used LS1, on street tires, spank a Mustang while eventually running low 11s.

You know what they say about the purponderance of evidence.

Thats awesome. What do most guys do for a transmission in these conversions? Do you need to enlarge the transmission tunnel?

Most guys I've seen, start out with low mileage, complete "Take Outs", 1998 -2002 Corvette, Camaro, Firebird or now, newer GTOs and Cadillacs are becoming availble through Salvage resources, reasonable; $4500.00 - $6000.00 for an "average" Combo, LS1 or LS2 and T-56 six speed trans, depending on condition and just what ALL you get.

If your motors missing intake, injectors, fuel rail, coil packs or worse yet; accessories (PS pump, Alternator, etc.) you can go broke trying to individually source and replace these items.

You also better know exactly what you're looking for 2, because there are quite a few LSX platforms, some parts work with a particular motor, some don't.
