Chevy seems to be doing all they can to make their born-again car remind its lovers of the less awkward and more cleanly styled versions of the past. Featuring direct injection, dual over-head cams, independent multilink rear suspension, with six-speed Aisin manual and GM automatic transmissions, one lucky driver and author of the
original article promptly piloted to the Car and Driver 10Best loop in the Michigan woods to get some hand and foot action in the V6 Camaro.
So, rumor has it that the Camaro showed some pretty good poise out on the track blasting from 0-60 mph in 6.1 seconds with a quarter-mile breezing by in 14.5 seconds at 97 mph. It will probably easily out-drag the V6 versions of the Ford Mustang and Dodge Challenger, but may be left in the dust of the lighter Ford Mustang Bullitt and the more powerful Dodge Challenger SRT8. And, for all of you who where hoping for the old school T-tops, it may be time for you to put away the Skynyrd CDs, get yourself into a collared shirt and put some scissors to the mullet cause it just aint happening this time folks.
