Official Press Release

RHS® carries all the accessory items and tools needed to maximize performance with the LS-Series Gen III/IV engine blocks

The LS Race Block from RHS® has revolutionized the GM performance aftermarket. And now RHS® provides the tools and accessories necessary to go even further and turn any LS application into an all-out racing engine, including torque plates, head gaskets, main cap pullers and intake spacer kits.

RHS® Torque Plates for boring/honing are carefully engineered to precisely mimic the thickness and design of an installed aluminum cylinder head. When assembled with the torque plates, engine block stresses and bore distortion are accurately replicated during the machining process, thus more precise boring and honing is reached for maximum performance. Exclusive RHS® design – don’t accept inferior deck plates, and never use a steel or cast iron deck plate on an LS engine. Engineered to work with all LS engine blocks, including 6-bolt LSX pattern blocks, this is a must-have for any serious RHS® LS Race Block engine builder.

RHS® precision MLS (Multi-Layer Steel) Head Gaskets are custom made for an exact fit in LS race engine applications. They are comprised of three layers of hard embossed stainless steel with a high temperature FKM rubber coating and a stainless steel shim layer that features a laser welded stopper layer for the ultimate in combustion sealing. MLS Head Gaskets are perfect for high horsepower, high boost, naturally aspirated and nitrous applications. Easy-to-install, no re-torque is required after the initial torque set. The MLS Head Gaskets are designed specifically for the RHS® block and optimize coolant passages and cylinder sealing (RHS® recommends only using RHS® head gaskets with RHS® blocks).

Third, the LS Engine Main Cap Puller is specifically designed to fit LS engines. This sturdy tool makes the job of removing the doweled main caps quick, safe and easy. In one swift motion, caps are removed and held tightly so they don’t fall and become damaged – no prying, hammering or damaging dowels required.

Finally, Intake Spacer Kits are a must for all tall deck blocks. RHS® Intake Spacer Kits are CAD designed and CNC-billet machined to the most exacting tolerances to fit a 9.750" deck height. A lightweight scalloped design provides rigidity and function without adding significant weight. Intake Spacer Kits include required hardware and gaskets and are available for all three cylinder styles: cathedral port LS1, rectangular runner LS3 and raised rectangular runner LS7.

All accessories, plugs, bolts and other service parts for RHS® LS Race Blocks are also available so that you can get the most out of your engine. For more information about the RHS™ LS Race

Pfadt Racing Adjustable Coil-Overs For 2010 Camaro

It is no secret that the 2010 Chevy Camaro isn’t the most agile of muscle cars. After a year of research and development, Pfadt is unleashing its coil-over system for the 2010 Camaro on the world. With 2.5 inches of ride height adjustability and 20 clicks of damper adjustment, there are plenty of options for the discerning corner enthusiast.

Official Press Release

Developing the highest performance Camaro Coilover System on the market required almost a year of research and development. Countless hours at road courses, run-after-run at the drag strip, hundreds of autocross runs, skid pad testing, slalom testing, cold weather testing, corrosion testing, durability testing… well, you get the picture. The result of all our engineering is a coilover system for the 2010 Camaro that combines 2.5 inches of ride height flexibility, 20-clicks of damping adjustment and a long list of technical features which combine to give incredible road holding ability with unmatched ride quality.

In early testing we found an unacceptable amount of deflection in traditional non-inverted front struts. To minimize this deflection we have inverted the front strut and instead of using the shock shaft to carry the cornering loads we now use the large diameter shock body. The shock body’s large diameter is much more capable with dealing with high bending loads from cornering with far less deflection. Once the shock shaft was not subjected to these bending loads its diameter could be reduced and more importantly it’s mass. One other major problem with this bending load on traditional struts is the friction that is induced from the side loading through the shaft. Again, this problem is eliminated with our inverted design. The inverted design in both the front and rear coil over is also responsible for the systems low un-sprung mass which enhances the suspensions ability to follow the contour of the road thus increases traction.

In the figure to the right you can see the differences between a standard strut and our inverted strut. The blue parts are attached to the chassis while the red parts move with the wheel.

Both the front and rear shocks in the Pfadt 2010 Camaro Coilovers utilize a mono-tube, inverted design with a floating piston to separate the shock fluid from the pressurized nitrogen. This arrangement gives our coilovers their relentless consistency from the moment you roll onto the race track to the moment you take the checked flag.

One of the benefits of moving to a coilover system is the ride height flexibility coilovers offer. The Pfadt Camaro Coilovers are no exception with ride height adjustability from factory height to 2.5 inches lower. Below are pictures of the Pfadt 2010 Camaro lowered 2.5 inches. While navigating speed bumps this low does take some time the cars performance around the race track was impressive with the car capable of exceeding 1.3g on factory tires and wheels.

We understand that the needs of each Camaro owner are different. We have gone to great lengths to engineer our coilovers to be multi-purpose to suit your performance needs while offering superior ride quality. For instance, both the front and rear shocks feature adjustable damping that can be accessed through a large, click knob at the bottom of each coilover. This easy-to-access, 20 click damping adjuster means that you can quickly and easily adjust the dynamics of the car to suit your drive to work, a neck snapping drag launch or the chicane at Laguna Seca.

Another example of the Pfadt Coilover flexibility is the ability to use common motorsport springs in both the front and rear. While many other coilovers on the market demand the use of custom wound springs, which limits you to a limited number of spring rates, our system has hundreds of spring rates available in 25 lb/in increments. We have developed a spring rate combination that will work for most people, but the flexibility is there for those that need it. Standard rates are 275 lbs/in Front and 500 lbs/in Rear.

Part of the reason we can use standard sized race springs is our innovation in mounting the rear coilover. The factory uses a rubber mount for the shock shaft and a separate spring seat which takes a specific spring. Many other companies use this same arrangement and it is the reason spring rates are limited. Our system inverts the rear shock and integrates the shock and spring mount. This allows the use of standard springs and provides a smooth and low friction mounting system.

With all of this adjustability it is easy to get overwhelmed. However, we have recommended starting points for many different conditions to quickly get you dominating the competition and enjoying your commute home from work.

Original Press Release:

Santa Fe Springs, Calif. (August 2010) – As the 2010 Camaro approaches its first birthday, owners are making more performance modifications than ever before. Superchargers and other engine upgrades make it possible to see huge horsepower numbers and incredible straight-line results. Racers looking to combat the Camaro's serious understeer, body roll and excessive wheel hop can now put the power down in the turns with the Camaro Race Pack from Hotchkis Sport Suspension.

Hotchkis engineers poured over track testing data from both stock and modified Camaros to develop a balanced handling system that is comfortable enough for the street but well balanced for the serious track enthusiast. The new Race Pack features the Sport Springs made from cold wound high-tensile steel that lower ride height 1-inch with a higher spring rate (210 lbs/in front, 440 lbs/in rear) for superior performance, paired with tubular front (1.25") and adjustable rear (1.00") competition sway bars, which reduce body roll and allow more aggressive driving styles including throttle-induced oversteer. Using information from hundreds of hours of track time and real-world street driving, the Hotchkis R&D team perfected high quality 3-piece lined end links and a strong, lightweight Strut Tower Brace designed to clear Magnuson superchargers. The Race Pack also includes the Hotchkis Chassis Brace, a unique aluminum brace manufactured out of laser cut, TIG welded elliptical aluminum tubing for superior strength and the best ground clearance on the market.

Like all Hotchkis Performance suspension products, Race Pack components are manufactured in the USA, come with complete hardware, greasable bushings and are finished in durable powdercoat. This bolt on upgrade can transform your Camaro into a canyon carver in minutes with basic hand tools.

Centerforce’s New DYAD Twin-Disc Clutch

It is a sad-but-true fact that many cars are not even offered with a manual transmission option these days. Shifting for yourself has fallen out of style with many Americans, although oddly enough, the Europeans still mostly buy manual cars (We think because Americans are too busy drinking coffee, applying makeup, or texting to row through gears - Ed.). The exception to this change are of course, sports cars and other automotive performance enthusiasts. Those who love driving love being in control, and there is nothing quite like the satisfaction of a perfect shift as you streak down the drag strip.

However, engine technology has progressed to a point where many manual transmissions have a hard time standing up to the beating of a high horsepower thrashing. No part suffers more wear and tear than the clutch. Luckily, Centerforce has recently developed what they are calling their “DYAD” multi-disc clutch system.

DYAD means “two units acting as one,” which is an apt description for the unit. Designed for extreme horsepower and torque outputs, the DYAD system combines several of Centerforce’s patented technologies into a single package. The use of multiple discs allows a vast increase in holding capacity from the pressure plate and increases the number of friction surfaces from two to four. They do this by using a dual disc system that operates much like a single disc, and has the drivability of a stock clutch. While one of the discs have splines for the input shaft, the other is a floating disc, and is driven by the splined disc. This increased holding capacity means the Centerforce DYAD clutch can tackle upwards to 1,200 ft-lbs. of torque while maintaining some semblance of driving manners.

The dual discs also may increase the life of the clutch thanks to the additional friction surface. The DYAD clutch also incorporates Centerforce’s patented centrifugal weight system, which actually increases the clutch’s clamp load with RPMs. That means the higher you spin your engine, the tighter your clutch will grab on. The Centerforce ball bearing pressure plates allow for a precise movement on the pivot point, which also helps increase the holding capacity. The steel flywheel has holes along the outer edge which removed three pounds of mass from the outside edge, allowing the flywheel to spin up quicker. The DYAD clutch system is a big step up in terms of huge horsepower and drivability and we look forward to see what Centerforce comes up with next.

Harland Sharp Rocks Stock LS Arms

Factory LS rockers have a reputation for killing their bearings when pushed beyond their limits, and a failed rocker bearing or two can ruin your whole day (not to mention your engine). Aftermarket rockers are one solution to this potential time bomb under your valve covers, but the price tag can put them out of the realm of feasibility for a lot of daily driver and street/strip applications. Fortunately, Harland Sharp has come up with a way to affordably upgrade your stock LS1/LS6 or L92/LS7 rocker arms.

Just send your used or new rockers to Harland Sharp, and they're refinish the bodies, upgrade them with high-quality bearings and trunions, then install steel washers and snap rings. If you'd prefer not to send in your cores, you can also get new stock GM rockers with the upgrade already installed. Visit Harland Sharp's website to get all the details and pricing, or give them a call at 440-238-3260. Don't forget to ask for your copy of their free catalog while you're at it - you may find some other way to spend all that money you saved!

AEM Introduces Wireless Exhaust Gas Data Monitoring

Think back just ten short years ago - wideband exhaust gas monitoring systems were expensive, bulky, and tempermental. Today, it's not unusual to see accurate wideband systems like the AEM UEGO not just in race cars, but in daily drivers as well. AEM's done it one better when it comes to keeping track of what comes out of your tailpipe with their new X-WiFi module that sends UEGO wideband data, plus the output from up to two EGT sensors, wirelessly to virtually any WiFi-capable device - iPhone/iPad, Android phone, or laptop computer, For hardcore tuning, there's also a 0-5VDC output for data loggers or standalone engine management systems, and a USB port for hardwired data stream monitoring via PC.

Why should the Camaro guys have all the fun? Now, C6 Corvette owners can join their Bowtie brothers in boosted bliss with Edelbrock's new E-Force supercharger kit for 2005-2010 Y-bodies. The same Eaton TVS Gen VI rotor system that's made the Camaro kits a success is also at the heart of the Corvette system, and like the previous GM E-Force offerings, the new setup is also available in 50-state-legal and competition-only versions.

Official Press Release:

Edelbrock is proud to announce the release of their new E-Force Supercharger kits for the C6 Corvette. The all new design pushes a stock LS2 or LS3 engine up to an amazing 554 flywheel HP and 515 ft/lbs of torque (with stock fuel pump) or 599 flywheel HP and 547 ft/lbs of torque (with included high volume fuel pump). This supercharger incorporates the Eaton Twin Vortices Series (TVS) Gen VI rotor assembly, the same internals used on the new ZR-1 Corvette, as well as an air to water twin intercooler system and dual core heat exchanger. Torque has been optimized through the use of 12" long runners, while low speed fuel economy is retained through the use of an internal bypass valve to reduce parasitic loss. All of this technology fits under the stock hood without modification to the hood, hood liner or cowl.

These kits include all of the upgraded components needed to support the increased power output of the engine, including 52 lb/hr injectors, a high flow air intake system and a handheld programming module to update the ECU. They are designed to work with all OEM emissions equipment and a pending EO number makes them 50 state street legal. The 554 HP kit #1593 (LS2), #1590 (LS3) and 599 HP kit #1594 (LS2) and #1591 (LS3) are complete systems that include matching coil covers for a great under hood look, and are available with a 5 year, 100,000 mile warranty for worry-free operation.

Edelbrock also offers an E-Force supercharger competition kit #1595 (LS2) and #1592 (LS3), which eliminates the injectors, programmer, and engine covers to provide only the core components needed to build up a competition level vehicle. The supercharger drive pulley is also deleted to allow the end user to select from four pulleys ranging in size from 2.75" to 3.875" in diameter, depending on the boost level desired.

* Features Include:No cutting or modification to stock body or hood (fits under stock hood, inner liner & cowl)
* 2300 cc/rev Twin Vortices (TVS) Rotor Group
* Integrated bypass valve for little to no decrease in fuel economy
* Self contained oil system with 100,000 mile service interval (no drilling, no plumbing)
* Two 50 state emissions legal options (EO pending); 554 flywheel HP and 599 flywheel HP
* Available 5-year, 100,000 mile warranty
* Retail priced from $6,595.87

Spectre Cold Air Intake for G8 and GTO

Pontiac may be gone forever, but before they turned out the lights, they rolled out some amazing cars as a last hurrah. The GTO and G8 are no more, but if you got yours while they were still in production, then you'll want to know about Spectre's new cold air intake for these LS-powered monsters. Designed to eliminate restriction and reduce IAT, Spectre claims up to a 12 hp improvement on G8's and 15 on the GTO.

Original Press Release:

Pontiac may not be building new cars, but that doesn't mean GTO and G8 owners should be stuck with stock intakes. The horsepower experts at Spectre Performance have developed high quality bolt-on air intakes for 2005-09 LS2 and LS3 powered Pontiacs. The new ProFab Cold Air Intakes for 2005-06 Pontiac GTO, 2008-09 Pontiac G8 GT and 2009 Pontiac G8 GXP smooth out airflow and direct fresh cool air to the throttle body for improved horsepower and torque.

Pontiac factory intakes are restrictive. Even the mighty G8 GXP has an intake designed more for noise reduction than optimal flow. Using their in-house dyno and flowbench, Spectre engineers developed the highest flowing system possible. The Spectre ProFab intake also isolates the high-flow hpR filter from the rest of the engine compartment with an aluminum heat shield, cutting inlet air temperature for improved air density and engine performance. The combination of high flow and temperature reduction can add up to 12 horsepower on G8s and up to 15 horsepower on the GTO.

The Spectre ProFab Pontiac intakes use a high-quality mandrel-bent polished aluminum intake tube to smooth, straighten, and increase airflow, a high-flow washable, reusable hpR cotton filter backed by an unlimited lifetime warranty and a powdercoated heat shield to block high underhood radiant heat. All necessary brackets, adapters, hardware, and complete step-by-step instructions to make installation easy are included. Additionally, many Spectre Performance Modern Muscle intake kits are C.A.R.B. exempt or are pending C.A.R.B. exempt status.

Adding a little bit of Vitamin N to your 2010 Camaro couldn't be easier than it is with the new Nitrous Express 5th Gen Camaro Single Nozzle System. An 'autolearn' TPS switch activates the system only at wide-open throttle for safety, and a direct plug in fuel line adapter means no cutting factory fuel lines. Lightning series solenoids, NX's patented Shark nozzle, a 10 pound capacity nitrous bottle, and all the necessary plumbing and hardware make adding 35-150 horsepower to your V6 or V8 Camaro an easy afternoon's work. Best of all, the system can be upgraded to power levels as high as 250 additional HP to the wheels.

Bridjit Curb Ramp Keeps You From Taking It On The Chin

Is there anything worse than that horrible scraping sound as you pull your baby into the driveway for the first time and the ground effects bottom out? Well, sure. There are a lot of things that are worse. But the point here is that killing your air dam is a totally avoidable tragedy thanks to the new Bridjit Curb Ramps. They're made from recycled tires, a set of three covers 12 linear feet of curb cut, and they install with nothing more than a hammer and a screwdriver.
Original Press Release:
Simple to install, the Bridjit Curb Ramp is made from recycled tires and is generally sold as a set of three, 4 foot modular sections. The three piece set provides 12 feet of driveway coverage and sells for a MSRP of $299. Additional center sections can be added as needed to accommodate wider driveways at $99 per section, plus freight. The only tools required are a hammer and screwdriver.
About Bridjit Inc.

Based in Kent, Wash., Bridjit Inc. is the manufacturer of the Bridjit Curb Ramp, a low cost, low impact solution that helps smooth the entry to a driveway with a rolled top curb. An estimated 9 million of these curbs exist in the U.S. and Canada that causes jarring and jolting to drivers and passengers and significant underside vehicle damage to tires, wheels, shocks, steering components, and alignment.

Made in the U.S. of durable rubber, Bridjit Curb Ramps are an environmentally friendly product made from recycled tires. The ramp design enables water to flow underneath without the need to install piping, no bolting to the concrete is required, and it can be flipped out of the way for easy cleaning. Manufactured in four foot modular sections, Bridjit Curb Ramps can help cover the full width of virtually any driveway.

Correct Your A-Body with Currectrac

Anybody who's ever owned a GM A-body - Chevelle, El Camino, Monte Carlo, Skylark, GTO, and so on - has a story about how the car tried to kill them at some point. Even though those cars featured a 4-link rear suspension in an era when leaf springs were still in vogue, handling at the limit could be spooky under the best circumstances and treacherous at worst. Control arm flex, odd geometry, and sloppy rubber bushings all teamed up to leave a lot of room for improvement.

Fortunately, Currie Enterprises has found the solution with their Currectrac line of rear suspension components for '64-'72 A-body cars. Their billet lower control arms are CNC'ed from billet 6061-T6 aluminum, a greasable urethane busing on one end, and their own Johnny Joint rod end at the other, which provides a range of motion without binding that a normal Heim-style end cant's match. They're black anodized for durability, with machined highlights, and they have mounting provisions for stock or aftermarket sway bars.

Of course, upgraded LCA's are only half the solution. Currie's double-adjustable upper control arms, available in versions for 1964-67 and 1968-72 cars, are "turnbuckle" style designs with a center section that can be rotated to adjust the arm length (and therefore set pinion angle) without removing either end from the car or axle. Like the LCA's, they're equipped with a fully-rebuildable Johnny Joint end, making them the last upper arms you'll need to buy.

There's no need for a trip around the block behind the wheel of your A-body to feel like a near-death experience - check out all of Currie's Currectrac product line on their website, or give them a call at 714-367-2676.

Centerforce Hooks Up 97-07 LS-Powered Cars

So you killed the clutch in your LS-powered Camaro, Firebird, Corvette, or GTO? Frankly, we're not surprised, knowing the way you flog that poor car. Now you have to replace it, but slipping another stock-spec disc in there is just going to put you right back where you started if you don't change your ways. You don't want that. We don't want that. And Centerforce definitely doesn't want that. But unlike you and us, they've actually done something about it by creating a new DFX part number specifically for 1997-2007 LS-powered Pontiacs and Chevys.

The DFX series is designed for applications that need more holding power than stock, and this new clutch features a high capacity pressure plate and a larger-diameter 12-inch assembly with a ceramic "button" style disc. It's a direct bolt-in replacement for the stock clutch assembly, but incorporates the patented Centerforce centrifugal weight system for maximum clamping force without killing your left leg, a patented ball bearing design to help ease pedal loads and improve engagement release, and a nodular iron pressure plate for strength. If you have to do the work of a clutch swap anyway, you want to get it right, so check out the Centerforce website for more information or give them a call at (928) 771-8422 to get your clutch questions answered by the experts.
