Edelbrock’s new RPM Xtreme cylinder heads for GM Gen-3 and 4 LS-Series engines offer a great combination of as-cast port design and custom CNC porting technology. We've already reviewed the RPM Xtreme in our LSX Cathedral Port Head Guide, but we also wanted to feature it as a new product.
By blending the affordability of as-cast ports with custom CNC porting in the critical areas (combustion chambers, intake entry, exhaust exit and intake/exhaust bowls), Edelbrock engineers are able to improve air flow and overall performance. This proven combination yields a powerful cylinder head at a lower cost than typical fully CNC’d heads.
The RPM Xtreme cylinder head features a 5/8-in thick deck for extreme durability, heli-coil inserts in all high-torque bosses, 214cc intake ports that flow 286 cfm at .600 lift, 80cc exhaust ports that flow 215cfm at .650 lift without pipe, and stainless steel 2.02-in intake with 1.57-in exhaust valves.
These heads aren't quite as serious as the Lingenfelter Edelbrock heads, but are a nice new mid-price performance option!
