General Motors has announced that it will launch a limited edition Corvette S for the Japanese market. In celebration of the automaker’s 100th anniversary, GM will be exporting the Corvette S with a limited production run of 30 units making it a very very rare production. 15 will be painted in Arctic White and 15 will make it in my favorite, Black.
From the pictures it seems that this Corvette will remain a left hand drive, and hopefully will not be converted to right hand drive. Although the 'S' badge my lead you to believe that this is a really unique car it is little more than a dressed up C6. Additions to the Corvette S will include a nicely leather wrapped interior, new rear spoiler, and unique front and rear grille treatment.
Power for the Corvette S will be supplied from the same 430 horsepower 6.2L LS3. The New Vette S goes on sale July 4th and has a starting price of ¥7,980,000 or about $75,275. Though with production numbers that low, they will sell out instantly.
the world is slowly coming to an end. i have nothing against japanese, i just can't see a small japanese business man hoping in a vette. that's what accord's are for, right?
