Some people just have too much free time and too many tools. Such is the case with Gene Swatek, who has stretched his 1987 Corvette Convertible an extra 38 inches. The father of four girls, Gene wanted to bring his family along with him to car shows (though how he chooses which two girls go is a mystery since I only see two extra seats.) So he chopped a stock '87 Vette in half and then stretched it out.
The Familyvette II, as the name implies, is not Gene's first foray into this area however. His first creation was a hardtop version which was made from 2/3 of the front and rear of seperate 1984 Corvettes, and seems much more suitable for family travels as the convertible also lacks a working top to keep out the elements. The saying goes "To each his own," and I think that applies here. Thanks, but no thanks!
