According to the good folks at Autoblog, GM Chief Engineer for the Corvette Tadge Jeuchter is talking a little trash. He claims that the new ZR-1 "will be able to take the production-car track record at any racetrack". More specifically he claims that they should lap the Nurburgring race track in Germany in "seven minutes, twenty-something seconds." Nissan of all companies holds the record with an official 7.29 time for the new GT-R and are allegedly ripping off 7.25's in the GT-R v-spec.
Coincidentally GM will have their hot C6R drivers crossing the pond for the upcoming 24 Hours of Lemans in France. So will one of the drivers be heading out a little early to visit next door Germany to run the ZR1 for all it's worth at the Ring?
