General Motors is cranking Camaros off the assembly line as fast as dealers can sell them. The new-old muscle car is already a huge hit, even though only two models have thus far been offered; the 300 horsepower V6, and the 426 horsepower V8. Both the Mustang and the Challenger offer three variants (if you include the GT500), though the Camaro currently offers 10 color choices to its competitors’ nine. And as rumor has it that the Camaro will be getting three more color choices, and possibly a third motor choice (from Buick!) as well.
Camaro5.com is leaking the information, though just how true it is remains to be seen.

First, the colors. Currently, the Camaro has a pretty standard list of muscle car colors, from Black to Imperial Blue Metallic and Rally Yellow. Joining the ten current colors will be two shades of green; Opel Green and Synergy Green. Why two green choices? Maybe because neither the Mustang nor the Challenger offer any shade of green. Opel green will be the darker shade of the two (check out the renderings) and it has a much more muscle car feel to it. Synergy feels too…earth friendly for a Camaro.
Camaro5 also reports that the first white Camaro has been produced, and shipped down Mexico way. Why this wasn’t offered from the get-go, I’m not sure, but a white Camaro doesn’t seem all that exciting to me anyway.
Supercharged 3800 series engine on a '98 Buick Regal
The biggest rumor however, is that the Camaro may be getting a boosted version of the Buick 3800 motor. This under appreciated motor has powered some seriously under appreciated cars, among them the Grand Prix GTP and Buick Rivera. This engine was supposedly discontinued last year with the closure of plant 36; however, Camaro5 seems to think that a super-or-turbocharged version of this engine might make its way into the Camaro. This would go hand-in-hand with the rumor that Buick would be receiving a myriad of turbocharged engines sometime next year as well. I thought I might be more excited about the idea of a new GNX than a turbocharged Camaro. Also, the current V6 in the Camaro makes 300 horsepower, whereas the 3800, even with a supercharger, never made more than 260.
