British invade American muscle - Top Gear Style
Last time Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond came to America they rode around in $1,000 beaters from Florida to New Orleans, nearly getting offed by angry rednecks in the process. The trifecta of Top Gear have returned with a bigger production budget this time, as they were spotted getting into some heavy hitters out in the Reno, Nevada. Clarkson was gunning around in a Corvette ZR-1, Hammond got dibs on the CTS-V, and Captain Slow was left trying to keep up in the SRT8 Challenger.

These cars are all radically different, with the ZR-1 clearly out matching both the four door Caddy and the HEMI-fied Challenger. Perhaps they should have put a stock ZR-1 against some aftermarket Caddys or Challengers to level the playing field, but I'm sure they'll think of an inventive way to showcase any flaw the find in the 'Vette. A Top Gear fan on the Finalgear.com website took these pictures, and James May was kind enough to take a photo op with the posters newborn daughter.

Without a doubt these three have the coolest job in the world for any gear head, but America will soon have its own version of the show on NBC. The pilot has already been filmed, and the show is being headed by comedian and former Man Show co-host Adam Corolla.

Online, they seemed to like it. Didn't see an actual video clip however.

I suppose. I found top gear, liked the clips, then got tired of Jeremey Clarkson's snobbery all in a couple of hours. The show is good, in spite of him.

Very true. I like the other two guys as well; May and Hammond. The clips and stunts are fascinating, as are the cars we'll never see on this side of the pond.

What worries me about the American version? Adam Carolla. I've never been a fan of his comedic work.

Yeah he is hit or miss sometimes with me, I do know that he does have a very high interest in automotive. I've seen him run the Toyota Race in Long Beach.

Adam should be fine, he's a funny guy and I think he'll lighten up the show a bit. Hope it doesn't turn into the man show though.
