The time is upon us for the biggest LSX event of the year, the LSX Shootout at Memphis Motorsports Park. The event starts Thursday October 8th in conjunction with the NMCA Finals. LSX TV is going to be there with coverage sponsored by GM Performance Parts each and every single moment reporting with both video coverage and rumors, news, and results.
You can find the LSX Shootout coverage presented by GM Performance parts POSTED HERE throughout the weekend – and it will be updated QUICKLY and OFTEN!
This is the second year for this event and has already proven to be bigger then the first. There will be two heads up classes for All Motor and Drag Radial contenders. There will also be a slew of index classes, including the new LSX Truck Class. Tom Peters, the head of the GM Design Team, will be the official Grand Marshal of the 2nd Annual LSX Shootout. He is the head man behind the all new 2010 Camaro. Tom will be there Saturday signing 2010 Camaro Posters. There also might be the possibility of a 2010 Camaro SS running down the track on some drag radials!
Paul Major has been testing his twin turbo C5 Corvette that has managed a best of a 7.35 @ 205 MPH, being the first LS based engine over 200 MPH. This is almost a full half-second faster then the fastest pass from the LSX Shootout in 2007. Paul was taken out in the finals by Tom Kempf Harrison by 2 hundredths. Keep an eye on both of these guys all weekend
The car above is driven by 2007 All Motor runner up Judson Massingill. Jud is the founder of the SAM School and pilots their class built ’99 Camaro SS. Last year they were the number one qualifier with a 9.04 @ 151. They made it to the finals but were taken out by Kevin Patterson’s ’95 Firebird. The SAM crew didn’t manage a good pass during eliminations on Sunday.
