SEMA 2014: Painless Performance Shows Off Chevy, Jeep Electronics

RE_34We thought we knew what to expect from Painless Performance this year, but we were wrong. The Fort Worth, Texas-based company had some pretty cool wiring solutions to multiple makes and models on display, and we talked with national sales manager Derek Love to find out more about these products.

RE_24Love directed us to the first big new items to hit the market, which were the 1969 Camaro and 1969 Chevelle direct fit chassis harness. “Our harnesses are all-inclusive, with 26 circuits to hook up and use throughout the vehicle,” he said. “Everything you see here is plug and play, without the need to splice or labor over where any wire goes. All the options are covered.”

For fans of resto-modding these types of muscle cars, the harnesses look to be the definitive solution for wiring issues, whether it be installing RS taillights or a set of aftermarket gauges. What’s more, the whole system is revitalized with modern-day blade fuses and fits to the factory bulkhead connection, and is then protected with a 150-amp mini fuse that hooks up from the alternator.

Over on the other side of the booth, Love pointed out the Trail Rocker switch panel for 2007-14 JK Wranglers. “This unit will go inside the dash, just in front of the shifter,” said Love. “It allows for up to five switches total, and uses a weatherproof fuse block that mounts right next the battery in a custom bracket.”

Jeepers with multiple accessories from lighting to sound systems to winches should find the Trail Rocker more than capable of fixing their problems, and Love confirmed that Painless is working on a dual battery setup platform to have cautious customers taken care of.
