SEMA 2014: Miller Electric Sparks Up New Welding Machines

RE_15The task of welding is, in the eyes of many, an art form that takes years to perfect. Beyond having the experience and talent under one’s belt, however, one must also have the right tools for the job. That’s where Miller Electric comes in.

RE_11The welding tool company has roots that extend as far back as the 1920s, and has made strides and innovations in its industry to stay on top, year after year. Part and parcel of this are the new units available to the public, the Millermatic 141 and 190. We spoke with senior public relations supervisor Erica Turner to understand these machines a little better, and to see what they offer in the way of utility and advancements.

“We’re revamping our lineup right now, giving our welders stronger arc characteristics, making them more ergonomic, and easier to transport,” said Turner. “They come with two handles now where there used to be only one, and they’re both under $1,000, so they’re a great gift idea for the holidays.”

The Millermatic 141 is the lighter of the two welders, generating 120 volts and capable of handling anywhere from 24-gauge to 3/16-inch metals. Its integrated Auto-Set feature is a carry-over from previous designs, and allows users to modulate fire diameter and material thickness to handle multiple types of metal. “It’s a great entry-level unit with premium qualities,” said Turner.

On the flipside, the Millermatic 190 weighs in at a portable 35 pounds, and also shares the Auto-Set feature. Meant for beefier, more demanding tasks, the 190 generates 240 volts to handle 24-gauge to 5/16-inch metals. “The 190 will grow with a user’s experience level as time goes on, because people can turn the Auto-Set feature on or off as they feel more and more comfortable with welding,” said Turner.

As a gateway to getting people acquainted with the art of welding, the Millermatics 141 and 190 look to be an attractive option for lots of up-and-coming newbies and novices alike. Find out more about Miller Electric’s offerings online or by phone with the provided contact information below.
