Richard Maskin and the gang at Dart Machinery have been hard at work on their LS lineup of components; we’ve shared an article recently detailing the performance their lineup of LS Next² engine blocks, and have another complete article coming up soon with all-out engine builds using those blocks.

In addition, we’re in the middle of compiling a complete rundown on the brand new Pro1 LS3 cylinder heads seen in the video above, complete with independent dyno testing from the guys at Borowski Race Enterprises. That article will show Borowski’s test engine with and without a monster shot of squeeze to show what type of performance the new cylinder head offers in that application.

But when we came across this video Dart posted of their internal testing with the Pro1 LS3 cylinder head, we felt obligated to share it with you all.

The engine in question is a 440 cube LS using Dart’s LS Next iron block and the Pro1 LS3 heads on top. Compression checked in at 11:1, and the engine was run with a Cam Motion solid roller camshaft, Harland Sharp 1.7:1 rocker arms, an Edelbrock intake manifold, and one of Book Racing’s BRX Jr. two-blade carburetors.

Running on VP Racing’s C14 fuel, the engine produced 769.4 horsepower at 7,300 rpm and 634.3 pound-feet of torque at 5,200 rpm. Even more impressive, average numbers from 6,000-7,500 rpm showed 749.8 horsepower and 585.4 pound-feet of torque.
