Options Galore for the 2016 Corvette Stingray

Drive 1Chevrolet’s unveiling of the updated 2016 C7 Corvette at the upcoming National Corvette Museum Bash is fast approaching. If you’re like us though, you have a hard time waiting for good things. Luckily, we’ve heard that Ohio-based Chevy dealer, Coughlin Chevrolet, has come across some early information about the car through General Motors order guides.

Corvette Blogger first turned our attention towards Coughlin’s 2016 Corvette “spy info”. Coughlin Chevrolet explains that there will be a range of new body and interior colors, along with new colors for the canvas roof on convertible models. There is a new shade of yellow that will replace the current Velocity Yellow, and a new red color called Crystal Red Tint Coat will also be available.

InteriorConvertible 2016 Corvettes can be delivered with a Bastille Red canvas top, or if the owner wishes, a Night Shadow Blue top. New interior colors include Spice Red and a new “suede” in either black or red. Additionally, the Twilight Blue interior option from the C7 Z06 will now be available to standard cars, and the ability to choose either red or yellow stitching will return. Coughlin believes that some of these options might only be part of an upcoming special edition package, and may not be offered as standalone choices.

Other options for 2016 Corvettes include two-tone seats, Carbon Flash and Spectra Grey exterior trim, a new full-length Satin Black stripe, and new wheel codes for both the Stingray and Z06 models; the Z06 will also get new exterior decals. There are also rumblings about an available carbon fiber hood option. Since the C7 already has a carbon hood, Coughlin is lead to wonder if a new version would incorporate an exposed-carbon hood.

For you race fans, there was a small indication that the 2016 Corvette order guide makes brief mention of a C7.R Special Edition. It is way too early to speculate about what this package might deliver, but it will be exclusive to Z06 models.

While it could be just a decal and color package, we’re crossing our fingers that an even more track-focused Z06 will be the result. One thing is certain, enthusiasts will have a little more light shed on the subject once the 2016 C7 Corvette breaks through the cover at the National Corvette Museum Bash.3
